Greater than one. Farther than oneWith the goal of accomplishing Mission 2015, the Technological School of Monterrey, developed the Citizen Formation area where it is founded the sealing course “Citizen formation and social commitment”.

This course is designed by ViaEducation, with the collaboration of professors of the Technological School, uses the learning-service didactic technique. The students also learn the citizen conceptual frame and fulfill social participation initiatives in diverse communities where they follow a strategy that hopes to build local capabilities and empowering persons so that they improve their environment quality (participative sustainable system). The variety of initiatives that the students have carried out in coordination with their professors and the communities that goes from the Tec community to marginalized urban schools, football leagues in marginalized urban communities, neighborhood meetings and municipal negotiations, among others. |
The process of trying to improve the environment quality, the challenges that comes out and the reflection about the action are the opportunity to develop citizen abilities like judgement cognitive analysis, critical thinking, access to the public information, negotiation, relational ways, social capital, taking deliberative decisions, communicative emotional ways like empathy, solidarity and social commitment. |
