About us

In 2004, a group of alumni from Harvard and MIT came together to share experiences and ideas about how to collaborate with sustainable development.

Since then ViaEducation has served as a space to fulfill these initiatives in different places of Latin America.

Our purpose is to recognize the value of education as a means to develop capabilities that may generate larger sustainable opportunities.  We have learned that this process requires integrating different social actors so that bridges of collaboration can be established and thus having a perspective of all the ecosystem.

For this purpose, it has established alliances-links with universities, business, international agencies and civil society organizations en the Latin American region: Chile, Brazil, Colombia, Costa Rica, El Salvador, Guatemala, and Mexico.

We believe that sustainable development is possible and that each person is capable of improving the quality of his-her own environment. On occasion, these capabilities have been reduced because of structural factors, even so, it is possible to open new ways to be able to fulfill participative processes that promote spaces for development.

We believe that it is necessary to establish bridges that generate a shared transformation and at the same time have a hope based on that the world can be better each day.

We are committed with people and with facilitating opportunities that will develop their capabilities so that they can fulfill an integral sustainable development, meaning, to grow and continue to evolve in harmony with the environment and with the everyone else.

Generate opportunities for sustainable social development throughout the design, implementation and evaluation of educational strategies.

ViaEducation fulfills its mission through four main research areas: Quality education, citizen education, education policy and social responsibility.
